78Introduction
This hub is meant to serve as a help guide for New Super Mario Bros Wii, specifically the Multiplayer Mode. I will list various tips and tricks that come into play when you're playing multiplayer with other people in this Wii video game. As I have been playing a decent amount of New Super Mario Bros Wii recently, this will come from my own personal experience.

Tips and Tricks for Multiplayer Mode
Here are a bunch of neat tips and tricks for New Super Mario Bros Wii. You can put these into practice when you're playing at least a 2 player game:
- You can carry your companions as you would a Shell or any other item. While naughtier players would use this to throw their friends into a bottomless pit, this can also be used to get your friend through a tough part of any level. If your friend has a power-up such as either of the Flowers, he/she can use the respective attack and become a portable weapon.
- You can retreat into your bubble at any time by pressing the A button. The best times to do this are if you're about to fall into lava or a bottomless pit and when you're in danger of losing a life by being too far behind your friends (being too far off-screen counts as a bottomless pit/being crushed). Then, your friend can pop the bubble when you're safely nearby.
- Items that you use on the world map affect all players when playing multiplayer mode. This makes item usage even more useful than it is in single player.
- Entering a pipe will automatically cause all other players to transition as well, no matter what distance they're located from the pipe. This can be used to great effect to grab tricky Star Coins in some levels (have one player grab the Star Coin, then have another player go into a nearby pipe).
- Following from the previous premise, it becomes possible to grab Star Coins that are "do-or-die" (those hovering over a pit for example) by the timely sacrifice of one player. Just throw yourself at the Star Coin and everyone gets credit. You lose a life, but those are easy to get.
- Actually, if you have quick enough reflexes, you can turn into a bubble and stay alive that way. So, no loss of life.
- You can use your friends' heads as springboards. If you need a little extra boost to reach a certain spot, feel free to do so (just make sure not to knock your friend off the platform to his/her doom!).
- Here's a really weird one: You can carry a Propeller Block, right? Well, one of your friends can jump on top of said Propeller Block and won't fall off unless you jump in such a way that your friend's head collides with a block. I found this one out just today.
- As long as one player reaches the end of the stage, all players get completion credit. The level ends a few seconds after any player touches the flag.
- You can gain the benefits of power-ups such as the Penguin Suit and the Flowers even if you're currently in Little form. Thus, I like to let my friends that are Little grab those power-ups as it improves their remaining hit points by 2 (it takes one hit to lose the bonus power-up and another hit to become Little again).
- On random encounters (such as the Ice Flower Koopas), it's more efficient to split up and grab the Toad tokens separately than it is for all players to try and go the same way.
Conclusion
Those are all the tips and tricks I have at the moment. If you come up with anything I might have missed (or need help), please feel free to tell me in the comments section. For that matter, if you just want to talk about this game, go ahead and use the comments section!
Until the next time, take care and have fun! ;)
